Class Description

This will be a concentrated crash course on hand tool woodworking taught by accomplished woodworker and Youtuber James Wright of Wood By Wright. In this class, James will cover the use, sharpening, and functions of most hand tools and then demonstrate joinery techniques, focusing on how to incorporate hand tools into a power-tool shop.

Topics covered:

• Sharpening

• Lay Out and Marking

• Sawing to a Line

• Chisel Use

• Plane Setup

• Half Lap Joinery

• The Mortise and Tenon Joint

• Through and Hidden Dovetails (if time allows)

There will also be time set aside for specific demonstrations requested by the audience.

This class will be interactive, so you can see up close and ask questions as James presents.
