Gattshall Block Beginners class April 8th (test)

from $5.00

The Gottshall Block is a simple block that was first created by Franklin Gottshall and popularized by Robert Lang. it is designed to teach layout methods and all the basic hand skills. For the class, we will be making one Gtooshall bock each.

Class Format

April 8th, starting at 10 am central time

The First Hour will cover the layout and dimensions of the block. After that, we will take each aspect, and one by one, cut them out. This usually takes 2-5 hours, depending on the class's skill level. We will start at 10 am central time and then take a break for lunch at noon, where we can shoot the breeze and talk shop. After that, we will continue where we left off. If we finish early, the rest of the time will be spent answering your questions and teaching methods and techniques one-on-one.

Lunch will not be provided, so please bring your own.

Formats

The class will be offered in three formats. There will be two slots for in-person students. We will work at the same bench, and I can give you hands-on instruction. It will be held in Machesney Park, IL. Make sure you can make it in person on that day. There will be ten slots for online students. You will join via zoom and hopefully have the ability to choose your camera angle to see things from the angle that works best for you. We will also have full audio so you can ask questions and be part of the class. Last, we will attempt to record the session so that those that want to can review it, and then we can offer it to those that could not attend.

This will be the first of many classes, so it will be free to attend with Code provided to patrons. Please leave feedback and let me know how this could be run better. If you wish to give a tip, you can do so in person or send it through PayPal to PayPal.me/WoodByWright
